Art and Design Technician
Salary range: £8,168 - £8,617 inc London Weighting Allowance [actual]
Permanent, Part time - ASAP Start.
3 hours/day (9.00am-12.00pm), 15 hours p/w ~ term time only + 5 staff training days

Park Academy West London is looking to appoint an exceptional individual to play an important role in our growing Academy.
The primary focus of the role of the Art and Design Technician is to co-ordinate the provision of technical support services to the Art and Design department, including the preparation of materials, setting up of equipment for class practical sessions and maintaining equipment for use. You will contribute to a learning environment that ensures that all students have equal access to the various genres of technology and that the Health & Safety of both staff and students is always prioritised.
As an Art and Design Technician your role will also include ensuring timely and accurate design, preparation and use of specialist tools/equipment/resources/materials, issuing and assisting with the safe use of equipment, tools and materials to students and keeping a record and providing technical advice and assistance to teachers with the general running of practical work sessions in a non-teaching capacity, particularly helping to ensure that health and safety requirements are met at all times.
We are looking for someone who has a level of education that enables support to be given to students aged 11-16
including those preparing for GCSE. This requires at least 5 GCSEs at grade C and above which must include English Language, Maths and Science or hold equivalent qualifications. Knowledge of Health and Safety surrounding workshops would be an advantage.
