Olchfa is looking for an inspiring and enthusiastic Assistant Headteacher to join our dedicated
team of professionals at an outstanding school. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a high achieving and forward-thinking Senior Leadership Team in a highly successful school.
If you are interested in developing your professional experience in a senior role within this innovative school, we
would like to hear from you. Ideally, you will have already acquired significant experience at middle or senior management level in one or more schools, which will have given you a taste of managing people and projects. However, the crucial ingredient for us is a desire to develop professionally and to embrace new challenges with energy, humour and vision.
The current role has arisen due to the retirement of our Learning Director, Nicola Bekmezci. The Governing Body has
decided to use this opportunity to create a fifth Assistant Headship at the school. Nicola’s responsibility is oversight of curriculum and timetabling issues at the school (but not the actual production of the school timetable). She is also the school’s lead person in relation to our Innovation School status and liaises regularly with Welsh Government in this role.
Consequently, applications from colleagues interested in these strategic areas of work are welcome. However, it is
even more important to us that we appoint the right person to join our team; a person whose personal and professional qualities will enhance and complement the strengths and interests already around the table. This means that we will rotate responsibilities rather than lose out on the right candidate. Therefore, we would encourage you to outline your strengths and professional interests during the course of any application you make and to outline how they might be useful to us here at Olchfa
Olchfa School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
We particularly welcome applications from under represented groups including ethnicity, gender, transgender, age, disability, sexual orientation or religion.
All applicants should be aware that the successful applicant will be asked to apply for an enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
