An excellent opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, learner-focused, inspirational individual to be involved in an exciting new venture at Barnsley College, taking on the role of Attendance Officer in the Junior Apprenticeship Academy (Direct Entry). The college is introducing Direct Entry provision for 14-16 year olds from September 2019 where students who are enrolled will become full-time students at the college. The provision is aimed at young people who are not benefitting from school and are motivated by a more practical curriculum.
37 hours per week, permanent, 38 weeks per year (mainly term time)
£15,084 - £15,906 actual salary

The department is seeking to appoint a self-motivated individual who feels that they can take on the role of attendance officer. The post holder must be able to employ outstanding time management skills and be an excellent communicator. The role will involve daily monitoring of attendance, managing non-attendance, supporting re-engagement and organising staff diaries to successfully coordinate meetings with parent/carers and outside agencies. The department expects all staff to have a flexible approach to working to support the strategic demands of the department and the College.
