We are looking for a CELTA Teacher Trainer on a Variable Hour's contract to be part of our small team and help us run our CELTA programme from January to mid- September 2021.
We offer CELTA in a variety of ways, including fully online, and the successful candidate will be involved in the teaching of the programme for the remainder of the academic year.
Each CELTA will be treated as a separate contract and will include in its remuneration a requirement to help with up to 5 interviews should the need arise. We are planning to run 4 courses during the period covered by this advert:
- Jan – May (15 wks) – 100% online – Tuesday and Thursday evenings (ACT role)
- Mar – May (7 wks) – 100% online – Mon/Wed/Fri day (ACT role)
- June – July (5 wks) – 100% online – full-time (0.5 ACT role)
- July – August (5 wks) – in College – full time (ACT role)
Our CELTA programme continues to attract very positive comments from our trainees. Therefore, the successful candidate will have to demonstrate how they have contributed to the enhancement of the CELTA courses they have worked on.
Part of the interview process will require candidates to showcase their practical skills by teaching a class of students on a General English course. However, as the courses will be mainly run online we would also ask for a recording of any online teaching done recently to be presented at interview stage, if at all possible.
Remuneration of £3,000 per full CELTA will include up to 5 pre-course interviews.
Date of interview for this position: week beg. 7 December, 9.00 – 13.00. Given the short turnaround it is important that all necessary qualifications and documents needed for the purpose of DBS checks are available immediately and references obtained quickly.
Preference will be given to a person who can commit to all 4 courses.
