(Permanent and Temporary posts available)
Starting salary: Grade 5/6 LCC structure depending on experience
To commence January 2019
Ashmount School currently provides education for 181 pupils aged 4 -19 with a wide range of learning disabilities
and is situated in Loughborough. The number of pupils on roll is steadily increasing and we now require additional Classroom Support Assistants who have an interest, experience and appropriate qualifications of working with children with learning disabilities.
We are looking for resourceful, enthusiastic and flexible people to join a high skilled staff team in providing high quality education and opportunities for its pupils. In January 2018 the school was judged, for the third successive year, as “Outstanding” by Ofsted - “Pupils are at the heart of what the school does every day. The school provides a welcoming, friendly and orderly learning environment.” We need staff who can perform consistently at this level.
We have recently moved to a purpose built new Area Special School. This is on a campus location on Thorpe Hill,
Loughborough. The new school is a state of-the-art facility designed to further increase the quality of education and care we provide.
The hours of work for this post are 9.00 am to 3.45 pm with 45 minutes lunch break, Monday to Friday term-time
plus additional non-contact hours (training days and staff meetings).
Each class is led by a teacher who works with a minimum of five full-time Classroom Support Assistants. Classroom Support Assistants work under the direction of class teachers, carrying out a wide range of duties and responsibilities as detailed in the enclosed Job Description. Additional provision is made for pupils through therapists, specialist teachers and other visiting professionals.
Our pupils each have an Individual Education Plan and appropriate care and behaviour plans which are maintained and developed by the staff team. All staff work carefully to provide the appropriate blend of education and care for each pupil according to need.
