Birkett House is a very popular and successful all age special school for pupils with learning difficulties. We are a multi-sited school in South Leicestershire and we are currently looking for someone who would like to work as a teaching assistant and has been trained/or is willing to train on procedures for supporting a specific child with complex health needs.
The contract as a teaching assistant is permanent and this assistant will be based at the site the child is being educated, this is currently the Wigston site. You would be a teaching assistant with an enhanced salary which recognizes your training to meet the medical needs of a specific child whilst the child is in school.
A Teaching Assistant is an integral member of a class team and works under the direction of a teacher supporting groups of children across a department. Salary Starting: Salary grade 5, point 7 + Enhancement* pro rata based on 32.5 hours per week and term time contract.
Actual starting salary would be £14,924.34

Shortlisted candidates will be expected to spend at least ½ day in school between Monday 28th October and Friday 1st November and the interview date which will be Monday 4th November 2019. The visit does form part of our interview procedure.
