We have an opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced person to join our team co-ordinating research and innovation projects relevant to the food, drink and environment sectors. The work is in collaboration with the Centre for Research and Environmental Science and Technology (CREST). CREST is part funded by the ERDF and supports businesses and organisations in Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin. It is delivered by University Centre Shrewsbury and Reaseheath College. The post is based at Reaseheath College
You will need extensive experience and expertise with systems, technologies and processes associated with:
o food waste reduction
o valorisaton of food wastes and creation of new value chains
o sustainable packaging and biopackaging
o decarbonisation of food production and distribution systems
o LCA of food production, supply and distribution
The person will design, manage and carry out projects that accelerate/increase the number of new products/services advanced/marketed by businesses. A key part of the role will be to develop, plan and co-ordinate opportunities for work-based learning (WBL), dissertations, CPD and further study for students and staff.
Please note this role constitutes ‘regulated activity’ as defined by the Protection of Freedom Act 2012. The successful candidate will therefore be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check with barred list information prior to starting employment. You must have the right to work in the UK and will be required to provide evidence to support this.
