Deputy Head of IT (College Group)
College location: John Ruskin College (Croydon) with some travel to East Surrey College (Redhill)
Salary: Competitive (Subject to qualifications, skills and experience)
Hours: Full time (37 hours/week)
We are currently seeking to appoint an inspirational and enthusiastic Deputy Head of IT to join our friendly and professional team.
Working closely with and reporting to the Head of IT, you will support in the leadership of the ICT Services Team cross College. You will be responsible for the new implementation and updating of existing systems and technologies. You will develop and implement the IT strategy, whilst being accountable for critical business IT services on a day-to-day basis.
As a key member of the management team you will be demonstrating and sharing knowledge and best practice within the ICT Team but also to a wider College audience. You will thrive in a fast paced challenging environment and demonstrate proven ability to lead and maintain close working relationships with staff cross college on all IT matters.
The successful candidate must have:
- Proven supervisory experience with the ability to work in a team but give leadership where required
- Excellent understanding for the support of Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop technologies and share best practices such as in the in use of Active Directory
- 3rd line technical knowledge with excellent Troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- MCSE qualification or equivalent experience. HP Networking experience including HP IMC monitoring tool
- Key technologies include Microsoft Windows Server, HP Networking, Microsoft SCCM, Windows 10 deployment and maintenance and Veeam
