Distance/Blended Learning Assessors – Care & Education Programmes

Swindon College is building a dynamic team of individuals to further grow our high quality distance learning provision in the care and education sectors. Our aim is to help people across the South West gain vital career qualifications and training and your role will be to assess and mark learners’ work and provide robust and developmental written.
Although you will be supported by a Team Leader and administrative staff, the position is home-based, with a requirement to attend one-two standardisation meetings per year (per course you mark on) at Swindon College’s campus.
Key aspects of the role include:
To provide support and guidance to learners following open / distance learning programmes in person, by phone or electronic means in a variety of locations
To provide initial advice and guidance and induction to new learner during enrolment
To action plan and track learner progress during their programme
To undertake assessment of students’ work
To provide guidance on progression opportunities to learners nearing completion of their programme
To participate in appropriate team meetings including quality evaluation.
To review and update monthly student lists and return these to the office within 5 working days
To give robust written feedback to the learner
To undertake a learner satisfaction survey
Ideally, you will have experience of delivering qualifications up to level 3 in the care sector.
Experience of delivering distance learning is preferred, but not essential. Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent) is also essential. A car/driving licence are also essential.
