We have an exciting opportunity for an inspirational English teacher to join Backwell School on a permanent contract from in September 2020.
We are looking for someone who can:
• be an inspirational classroom teacher who is dedicated to provide high quality teaching and learning.
• drive students to raise standards to achieve at all levels; and
• demonstrate commitment to the values and core beliefs of Backwell School.
The successful candidate will be able to teach English at all key stages and is suitable for a newly qualified teacher as well as those with experience. They will join a strong and very committed English Department of 14 teachers. The department is good humoured with a strong team ethic working collaboratively to develop the curriculum, ensure that schemes of work and interventions are effective and that students make the best possible progress.
Backwell School is a part of the Lighthouse Schools Partnership Multi-Academy Trust. In 2013, Ofsted judged both the School and the Sixth Form to be outstanding. At present the School has 1,300 students in Years 7 to 11 and 380 in the Sixth Form.
