An exciting opportunity to work at our rapidly expanding Sixth form Centre.
Briarwood Sixth Form caters for a range of students whom have severe and profound learning difficulties. We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Independent Living Lecturer, to join a successful and supportive department. The Independent Living Lecturer will deliver sessions that promote the acquirement of skills that support independent living. Specifically, sessions should be designed to meet individual needs such as meal planning, personal hygiene, home management, safety, personal growth and problem solving.
The role will be for 1.5 days per week, delivering 3 sessions across the department to learners of varying need and ability. All students will achieve appropriate accreditation from a range of awarding bodies suited to the learner.
Candidates will have the ability and willingness to participate in curriculum developments within their subject, accreditation implementation and moderation and an awareness of all students. At Briarwood we have high aspirational goals for all learners and the successful candidate will inspire, motivate and challenge students to their full potential.
To be considered for this post you must posses a sound knowledge of the 16-19 curriculum and have achieved or be willing to work towards the Level 3 Award in education Training.
The post is 9.75 hours a week, term time only, plus inset days.
