Finance & Payroll Operations Manager
College location: East Surrey College (Redhill)
Salary: Competitive (Subject to qualifications, skills and experience)
Hours: Full time (37 hours/week)
We are currently seeking to appoint an organised and enthusiastic Finance & Payroll Operations Manager to join our professional and knowledgeable Finance department.
Working closely with the Head of Finance (College Group) you will oversee the operational finance team including line management and development of staff based across two Colleges as well as deputise for the Head of Finance in their absence.
You will act as payroll lead – overseeing all payroll activity, reconciliations and reporting, and act as the technical expert whenever required. You will also review and approve all transactional finance activity, including: accounts payable, accounts receivable and banking and ensure ‘month-end’ deadlines are met and accounts are reconciled in a timely manner. In addition to this you will review operational finance and payroll processes, making recommendations for control and efficiency improvements.
The successful candidate must:
Be a fully Qualified Accountant (CCAB/CIMA)
Have previous experience within Further Education
Have previous management or supervisory experience of transactional finance staff
Previous Payroll experience
Excellent IT knowledge, particularly in Microsoft Excel
