We are one of the highest performing colleges nationally on all courses at all levels, rated Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ and a TEF Gold provider. At our Penwith campus based in Penzance we currently offer full-time courses and Apprenticeships in Bricklaying, Painting & Decorating and Carpentry & Joinery (Bench and Site) as well as full and part time courses in multi skills, or elements thereof. It is an expanding part of our provision, enabling well motivated students to achieve their full learning potential and career targets.
The successful candidate will be teaching on our level 1, 2 and 3 full time courses and apprenticeships this coming academic year. As well as teaching, the successful candidate will also act as a tutor to groups of students and will share responsibility for course development, management and review in the area.
We are seeking to appoint experienced, qualified tradespeople who are lively and enthusiastic lecturers who can contribute significantly to the programme area. Previous experience of teaching and assessing on the above courses would be an advantage. Applicants should have at least five years relevant industry experience and a qualification in Bricklaying at level 3. Teaching qualifications plus assessor and/or verifier awards would also be desirable.
If you are not a qualified teacher already this should not deter you from applying. For example, if you are an experienced industry professional, looking for a career change, then funding may be available to support teacher training.
