Lecturer in Engineering (Truro)
£24,586 - £36,508 per annum
Appointment from: September 2020
Are you an expert in Engineering? Are you a qualified teacher or looking to become one? If yes, then we’re looking for you…
We are one of the highest performing colleges nationally on all courses at all levels, rated Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ and a TEF Gold provider.
Our current Engineering provision consists of full time courses and apprenticeships from intermediate to HE level. Due to continued growth and expansion, we are looking for a full time lecturer to join our successful team to teach a variety of engineering and manufacturing subjects. Good applied science and maths skills will be essential, and experience of engineering maintenance, manufacturing, mechatronics, or aerospace sectors would be an advantage. You should also have a track record of problem solving using your initiative and working effectively as part of a team.
The suitable candidate could also contribute to the expansion of Engineering Apprenticeship-based courses in our new Engineering and Construction facilities. The individual appointed will also act as a tutor to groups of students and will share responsibility for course development, management and reviewing of learner performance in the area. Applicants should hold an HND, degree or similar professional qualifications and a recognised teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one. Assessor and/or verifier awards would also be desirable.
If you are not a qualified teacher already this should not deter you from applying. For example, if you are an experienced industry professional, looking for a career change, then funding may be available to support teacher training.
Interviews are likely to be held: Week Commencing 15 June 2020.
CLOSING DATE: 12 NOON, THURSDAY 4 JUNE 2020
Curriculum Vitae are not accepted, Application Forms only.
Successful candidates will be notified within 4 weeks of the closing date.
We offer a generous package with benefits including 37 days annual leave plus bank holidays and College closure days, teacher pension scheme, relocation package, free on-site parking and a variety of on-site benefits and discounts.
The College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
