Lecturer in Health and Social Care (Truro)
Salary will be based on a band in the range of:
£24,586 - £36,508 per annum
Appointment from: April 2020
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Community Studies team. We are seeking to appoint an experienced, lively and enthusiastic lecturer in the Health and/or Social Care field to contribute to the programme area. Previous experience of BTEC/exam-based teaching would be an advantage as would previous experience in care or health related employment.
Although the successful candidate will primarily be teaching on the BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care courses for our full-time students, our health and care provision also includes Access to HE courses in Psychology and Social Work Studies and in Nursing and Human Sciences, as well as Foundation degrees in Children’s and Young People’s Workforce and Childhood Education and a BSc (Hons) in Applied Social Sciences. We also offer BTEC health and social care courses at Levels 1 and 2 with the potential to progress onto other levels within the college.
We are looking for someone who works with confidence with a wide variety of ability levels, who is a committed team member and who projects an enthusiasm for this subject.
Applicants should hold a degree or similar professional qualifications and a recognised teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one. As well as teaching, the successful candidate is likely to have responsibility for a tutor group.
