Malmesbury School requires a dynamic, enthusiastic and well-qualified teacher of Science to join the Science faculty. If you can teach a second subject, please identify this in your application letter. This post would be suitable for a highly competent NQT or a teacher with experience and a proven track record of success. The school occupies a modern building with a suite of laboratories built around a faculty office and prep rooms. All labs have an interactive whiteboard or Clevertouch screen and computer. Students follow either AQA Trilogy Combined Science or the AQA Separate Sciences at GCSE with exam results for the last few years being exceptional. We have large numbers of students studying at least one Science subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Psychology) at A-level. The Science faculty has an ethos of “inspiring and equipping young people to discover their world” and we believe in using practical work to inspire our students and to support them in developing their investigative skills. In 2018 the school was awarded the Platinum Science Mark, which recognises the outstanding work of the Science faculty. The faculty has a very successful YouTube Channel and a Facebook page which we encourage you to visit. Staff have easy access to high quality CPD such as subject specialist training and the Outstanding Teacher Programme through the Avon Teaching School Alliance.
At Malmesbury School our vision is to be a happy, caring and excellent community. We are proud to be a truly comprehensive school providing an education of the highest quality for all the students within Malmesbury and the surrounding area.
