Gas Centre Lead Trainer / Coordinator. Construction. Full Time. Permanent.
An opportunity has arisen at Leicester College to appoint an experienced and highly motivated Lead Trainer/Coordinator in the Gas Centre within the curriculum area of Construction.
Applicants are invited from a Gas qualified background; ideally being able to deliver subjects such as Gas Safety Regulations, Core Gas safety including the core subjects e.g. processes of combustion, flues and ventilation requirements etc, and have an excellent working knowledge of the installation, servicing and maintenance, and fault rectification of a range of current and former gas appliances.
The key responsibilities of the role include delivering and assessment of theoretical and practical knowledge of and managing/conducting the Gas assessments in line with awarding organisation guidelines to full-cost commercial customers, part-time students, full-time students if applicable and to help conduct internal staff CPD. The successful applicant will join a wider high performing curriculum team and will be responsible for the design, development and delivery of Gas training and conduct Gas assessments on site as required.
The successful candidate will facilitate timely or relevant success of customers and provide a wide range of training solutions based on employer needs. You will also Lead and promote growth within the Gas provision. Plan, lead, and oversee internal verification and quality assurance processes associated with Gas Centre delivery.
Applicants should have significant experience of the Gas industry must also hold the relevant Gas qualifications to deliver Gas core units plus specialist units, a Level 3 qualification within the vocational area and have a sound knowledge of internal/external verification processes. A Level 2 minimum in maths and English is also required.
Previous experience of working in a commercial training environment is desirable but not essential as support is available for someone who can demonstrate commitment to developing others. An ability to demonstrate appropriate IT skills will be required including working remotely to provide distance learning and support to cohorts of students as required.
It is desirable for applicants to hold a recognised teaching qualification however support is available for exceptional candidates yet to achieve qualified teacher status. Candidates will have a track record of delivering high quality teaching and learning within the FE/Commercial sector, along with experience of developing course provision and knowledge of IV processes are essential together with the ability to appraise courses using a range of quality and performance indicators.
