Contract: 'TLR2, Full Time - Permanent
Salary: MPS/UPS with SEN point plus TLR (Inner London)
Teaching, Learning Responsibility Allowance (TLR) £3,168

Paddock School is a growing, outstanding and innovative split site school in Roehampton and Putney for pupils with moderate to severe learning difficulties with autism or severe of complex learning difficulties. Our thriving community includes a Singing and Signing Choir, a touring theatre group, sports teams and school café open to the local community. We currently have over 216 pupils on roll with approximately 180 staff.
The Governors and Executive Headteacher of Paddock School are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Head of Department to work as part of our team at Paddock School. You will be an outstanding head of department and enjoy demonstrating your creativity and excellent interpersonal skills in supporting us to work towards our vision – To Nurture, Inspire and Transform Lives.
The successful candidates will maintain, build on and extend established outstanding practice in order to meet each pupil’s individual needs. All staff are provided with bespoke training. The post holder will be accountable to the Head of School.

The Role:
Take a leadership role in the development, implementation and evaluation of the school’s policies, practices and procedures in your department and curriculum area so as to support the school’s values and vision
Together with SLT, lead on the school self evaluation process for your department and curriculum area including lesson observations, monitoring of school standards and bringing about improvement
Have overall responsibility and accountability for your curriculum area ensuring curriculum continuity, consistency, balance, match and progression
Direct and supervise support staff and teachers
Contribute to the professional development of other teachers and support staff
Deploy and monitor the effective use of resources delegated to them
Manage, monitor and accurately account for departmental budget
Visits to the school are strongly encouraged.
