Learn@ Specialist Academy will be a new Free School for up to 136 young people aged between 5 and 18 years who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH) and Speech and Language Communication Needs (SLCN).
This new Academy will be the fifth in the Learn@ Trust group and will serve the Bristol, South Gloucestershire and Bath and North East Somerset region. It will be the first specialist Free School for SEMH and SLCN built as part of a multi academy group within the South West region.
This will be an exciting opportunity for either an experienced school leader or an aspiring senior leader wishing to have the experience of opening a new school.
You will need to be a dynamic, committed leader who will provide positive leadership and direction for the Academy and embrace the ethos and values expressed in the Learn@ MAT Statement of Purpose.
We are looking for a Head Teacher who:
Will enthusiastically take on the opportunities and challenges of this post;
- Is passionate about learning, teaching and personal, social development;
- Recognises and values the opportunities provided by a co-located specialist SEMH and SLCN provision with a short break (respite) residential facility
- Has proven experience of using a wide range of interventions for effective management of challenging behaviour
Closing date: 07 October 2019 and interviews will be held on 14 and 15 October 2019.
