At Regency High School we are passionate about learning and supporting ALL pupils, parents/carers and staff. Our aim is to help all pupils to achieve and to be the very best they can, within a safe, happy, stimulating and supportive environment.
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Headteacher to start in September 2020 or sooner for the right candidate.
The successful candidate will be committed to making a difference to the lives of the pupils at Regency High School through providing a high quality and relevant education. They will have experience of working with pupils with complex, severe and moderate learning difficulties and they will have the ability and enthusiasm to effectively lead the school towards outstanding outcomes.
Regency High School is an expanding, successful generic special school for pupils aged 11-19 with a wide range of additional needs. Pupil numbers at the school have steadily increased over recent years with 205 pupils on role in September 2019. The pupil population is due to increase further over the coming years. The majority of pupils transfer to Regency High School at the start of year 7 from Fort Royal Community Primary School. A school with which we have close links.
The successful candidate will be an experienced Headteacher or Senior Leader who has experience in a range of schools and is passionate about working with pupils with additional needs. They will have excellent administrative skills and an in-depth knowledge of Ofsted requirements as well as a proven track record of being able to manage people well to build a successful staff team.
Regency High School has been rated ‘Good’ in the last three Ofsted inspections. The Governing Body seek a new Headteacher with the skill and determination to continue and improve on that journey.
Facilities at the school are widely considered to be excellent.
The successful candidate will:
• Have a thorough understanding of financial management, strategic planning and human resources.
• Be both passionate about, and experienced in delivering a high quality education to children with Special Educational Needs.
• Demonstrate an ability to lead, empower and develop a large multi-disciplinary team of staff.
• Have a proven record of working constructively and successfully with parents/carers and other partner agencies.
