Head of School
Arun Court School requires a part-time headteacher to work alongside the executive headteacher who is the proprietor and founder of this innovative setting for students with severe mental health conditions, many of whom have been missing from education for a number of years.
The school has 20 places and is a medium stay provision that is an independent non-profit-making facility where all students are funded by EHCP.
Due to the unusual nature of the setting, which has to meet both Health Authority standards and Ofsted standards, we are attaching a highly competitive salary to the position. We require an enthusiastic and creative candidate, who can continue to build on the high standards of the school and has a genuine belief in all students meeting their potential, even in very difficult circumstances.
Whilst the position is part-time, 4 days per week, candidates should be aware of the large amount of out-of-hours provision and services, which will mean that some of the days worked may be longer than is usual in a standard setting.
Candidates should have the NPQH or a masters level degree in a relevant area. An understanding of and experience of working with students with specific mental health difficulties is also desirable.
Please read our website in detail which will give you a true sense of the setting or contact the Directors for an informal conversation
