EXCITING OPPORTUNITIES AS OUR UNIVERSITY CENTRES CONTINUE TO GROW COME AND JOIN OUR LEARNING COMMUNITY!
We have 2 established University Centres in the DN Colleges Group - University Campus North Lincolnshire (in Scunthorpe) and University Centre Doncaster. We currently have around 2.200 Higher Education students enrolled on a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes; this is expected to increase to 2,500 next year across the 2 campuses.
We work with the University of Lincoln, University of Hull and Sheffield Hallam University as awarding bodies and have a rapidly developing portfolio of Higher and Degree Apprenticeship provision.
A range of exciting opportunities for Subject Specialists are now available as we seek to expand our staffing base. These full-time and fractional posts are all focused on higher education teaching and the higher education student experience. Successful applicants would be appointed to DN Colleges Group contracts with one of our campuses as the primary place of work. We may, however, require individuals to undertake some teaching or other scholarly activity at both locations.
The University Centre is seeking to appoint a Programme Leader Health and Well-being (BSc Health and Social Care). Ideally the post-holder will have an undergraduate degree in Health and Social Care, Nursing or Health Studies and have experience of teaching in higher education.
Working within the University Centre the post holder will be required to assume academic leadership for appropriate programmes. This will involve substantial liaison with both internal and external groups, in order to ensure the effective organisation, development and delivery of HE programmes. The Programme Leader has operational responsibility for the effective implementation of the awarding university’s quality assurance policies and procedures and is expected to participate fully in the appropriate subject-based committees and examination boards. The role will involve leading a small team, liaison with external examiners and implementing quality assurance processes to ensure the policies and procedures of the University Centre are effectively adhered to. The Programme Leader will also lead curricular review and development within the subject. This includes coordinating the production of initial validation documents and the annual review of all student handbooks relating to the programme(s).
The ultimate outcome of the role will be demonstrable improvement in the learning experience of HE students. The post involves leading the delivery of this vision at college level and working with senior staff, college teaching staff, students, local employers and community partners.
