Hours: 35 hours, term-time only +5 days
The East Specialist Inclusive Learning Centre (SILC) is a 2-19 generic special school with 414 pupils on roll. The East SILC is a complex organisation which operates on a variety of sites to provide a range of outreach services across the city, including partnerships with primary and secondary providers, the city-wide Physical Difficulties and Medical Service including a moving and handling service, as well as the Medical Needs Teaching Service for Leeds.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 Higher Level Teaching Assistants to join our existing team at the East SILC. The majority of our pupils have learning needs, and some have physical difficulties. The successful candidates appointed will work across the East SILC.
The HLTAs appointed to these posts will form an integral part of the efficient running and organisation of EHCP delivery across the SILC. The main purpose of this role is to provide cover for teachers across all sites when EHCP/essential meetings are being undertaken. In addition to this, the successful candidate will be expected to carry out /support intervention work that is being undertaken as part of the National Tutoring Grant. Integral to this role is the ability to produce planning to support the delivery of learning activities and assess, record and report on pupil’s progress and achievement.
These posts are open to all applicants who meet Higher Level Teaching Assistant standard or equivalent qualification/experience - a teaching qualification would be highly desirable. One position is permanent subject to a 6 month probationary period, and the other position is on a temporary basis until 31st August 2022.
The East SILC has a progressive staffing structure in place which is supported by Continual Professional Development. A thorough induction process is in place.
