We’re looking for a learning assistant who can use their industry knowledge to help our budding mechanics develop their skills in the workshop.
An opportunity has arisen for a proactive and experienced individual to join our Motor Vehicle Engineering team. This is an hourly paid post based at our industry specific facility currently in Kings Langley. You will need to be flexible in your approach and willing to maintain an up-to-date understanding of the trade.
Key to this role is knowledge of the industry and the ability to prepare our students for the world of work. You will be working with students on full-time courses at Levels 1-3 supporting our teachers to deliver an outstanding learning experience in the workshops and classrooms. You will ensure we have the correct materials in stock and will help demonstrate practical tasks to students in groups and in 121 sessions.
If you have training experience, great, but if you are willing to complete on the job and part time training and are already experienced in motor vehicle engineering we would love to hear from you. This role could also be an ideal introduction into education for someone looking to transition to teaching.
As well as the relevant experience, we are looking for someone with an enthusiasm for helping people of all ages and abilities to achieve their potential. You will need to be professional and above all be able to support students to develop in their vocation and wider employability skills.
You will be working approximately 7 hours per day Monday – Friday. This is a fixed term position with an initial end date of 31 July 2020, at which point it will be reviewed in line with student enrolment figures.
