CINO111148 Hourly Paid Work Placement Coordinator
Hours: 0-20 hours per week
Colchester Institute’s mission is to deliver first-class education, professional development and technical skills training to develop careers and strengthen the local economy. Our core values include being student-focused with students at the heart of our decisions and priorities and being an employer that recognises, values and develops our staff.
The Foundation and Supported Curriculum Area offers a broad provision base for learners studying below level 2 or who require supported study before making the transition to a vocational programme. This includes provision for learners: with special educational needs and/or disability (SEND); following alternative education programmes (Year 11); and also for those experiencing other barriers to learning.
There is a clear vision within the Foundation and Supported Learning Area to provide students with a high-quality and inclusive education via a holistic Education approach. The curriculum is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to facilitate successful progression to further education and employment, and to prepare them for adulthood. This vision is realised via a balanced curriculum and through strong shared values across the team.
We are seeking Work Placement Coordinators to join our established team at Colchester and Braintree. Successful applicants will proactively work with students to establish appropriate work experience options, and source placements on behalf of students. The applicant will need to work flexibly to develop alternative work-related activities where external placements are not deemed appropriate.
We welcome applications from candidates who show enthusiasm to support young people with additional needs; who are empathetic in their approach and driven to enable young people to fulfil their potential. The successful candidate will have a ‘can do’ attitude, be highly adaptable and possess flexibility to support students across the Area.
A clear understanding of Safeguarding is an essential requirement.
If successful, you will be welcomed to the College with a full induction programme to support you in your new role. The College is also committed to staff development and offers an excellent staff benefits package.
Colchester Institute is committed to the rights of learners within all its learning locations; it is committed to promoting their welfare, protecting their physical and psychological well-being and safeguarding them from all forms of abuse. The College’s Safeguarding and Child Protection policy aims to ensure that all learners attending the College do so in a safe and secure environment. Colchester Institute expects all staff to share this commitment.
