We are looking for an experienced Functional Skills Tutor, to teach functional skills in line with College policy, take part in quality assurance processes and participate in the continual development of teaching learning and assessment. This role includes supporting and improving apprenticeship outcomes by successfully delivering learning to meet individual apprentice and employer needs and the continual year on year increase of qualification achievement rates.
This role will involve the teaching of English, Maths and ICT on apprenticeship programmes, mainly through delivery of functional skills, ensuring that it meets the needs of apprentices and employers. The role also involves identifying starting points of apprentices by carrying out a robust initial assessment and using this information to develop an individual learning plan in agreement with the apprentice and employer.
You will have a good standard of general education, to include GCSE 9-4 or equivalent in English and Maths and ICT or a willingness to up skill in post and possess a teaching qualification. You will have Experience of teaching functional skills and have the ability to be calm, supportive and influence apprentices to reach their full potential.
