Inclusive Learning Team Leader
Responsible to: Head of Inclusive Learning and Resources
Status: Permanent, full time post, full year
Salary: £22,709 - £24,959 (A27-A30)
Reaseheath College prides itself on its inclusive approach to student support, assisting an increasing number of learners with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities to access Further Education and Apprenticeships. The Learning Skills Centre (LSC), working in partnership with curriculum staff across the college, supports students overcoming barriers to learning and to realise their potential.
The College is looking for a dynamic, self-motivated, team leader who has experience of successfully delivering inclusive support and guidance to young people and vulnerable adults to join the LSC. Leading a team of Inclusive Learning Practitioners and Advanced Inclusive Learning Practitioners, the successful candidate will promote inclusive learning, progression to adulthood and independence making best use of Information Learning technologies.
The successful candidate should be an experienced line manager, able to demonstrate extensive knowledge of the impact of specific learning difficulties, mental health difficulties and disabilities on learning, with experience of promoting diversity and social inclusion and a high level of interpersonal and communication skills, alongside a proven track record delivering inclusive learning interventions and provision. Working in a busy, customer focused department, the successful candidate will have a flexible approach to their workload and high levels of resilience to support change and continuous service development. GCSE Maths & English Grade C or above (or equivalent) and proficiency in MS Office applications are essential for the post. Experience and expertise utilising assistive and digital technologies is desirable.
The role requires coordination and provision of inclusive learning support for students and apprentices, including initial assessment and chairing EHCP reviews. Inclusive Learning Team Leaders line manage teams of Inclusive Learning Practitioners and Advanced Inclusive Learning Practitioners, allocating learning resources according to the young person’s support plan and or EHCP. Inclusive Learning Team Leaders work closely with curriculum colleagues monitoring and reviewing student support plans, inclusive learning provision and progression.
Please note this role constitutes ‘regulated activity’ as defined by the Protection of Freedom Act 2012. The successful candidate will therefore be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check with barred list information prior to starting employment. You must have the right to work in the UK and will be required to provide evidence to support this.
