Industry/Work Placement Coordinator. Construction. Full time. Permanent.
We are looking to appoint an Industry/Work Placement Coordinator to join our large and energetic Construction department. The successful applicant will source and liaise with external agencies/employers and organise industry placements/work experience for a caseload of students predominantly aged between 16 and 18. You will carry out health and safety risk assessments and act as the first point of contact for the employer and the students prior to and during the work placement. Your role will support students to become independent through the development of their employability skills, preparing them to progress to positive destinations.
The successful candidate will have a Level 3 qualification in IAG or counselling/coaching, a Level 3 or equivalent vocational qualification (Construction related industry preferable) and Level 2 minimum in English and maths (GCSE Grade C or above, GCSE Grade 4 or above or equivalent). Experience of working with young people is required and appropriate experience and some knowledge of the Construction sector would be an advantage.
You will be a proactive individual and possess excellent communication skills with the ability to approach difficult issues in a calm and responsible manner. You will be able to build effective working relationships with employers, students and colleagues to maximise opportunities.
