Exciting opportunities are available for new roles at all West Herts College sites (including Barnfield College, Luton) for Intervention Learning Advisors to join the Student Services and Additional Learning Support team.
You will be required to support learners predominately in out of class intervention sessions, both online and in person with supportive and motivational activities to help them stay on track with their courses. This is a student focused role and the ability to build up a rapport with young people experiencing difficulties is key to enable them to access the educational opportunities offered by the College
You must be able to work well within a team and cross college departments and have the aptitude to work independently, when required. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with a diverse range of students as well as their parents/carers.
A pro-active and resourceful, learner-focused approached is required as you will be involved in creating individual support plans, working collaboratively with curriculum-based colleagues. Keeping accurate records is essential.
Knowledge of multi-agency working and is desirable as the role will include tailored support for Looked After young people and Care Leavers.
An understanding of the specific educational needs and potential barriers to learning for students within a Further Educational setting is desirable but a proven enthusiasm for this area of work essential for this new role.
There are a range of roles based at our Watford, Hemel and Luton campuses and flexible hours available starting from January 2023.
