IT Hub Team Leader
Salary: Grade 7, points 23 - 26 (£26,999 - £29,636) FTE per annum
Location: Keynsham (near Bristol/Bath)
Contract: Full time 37 hours per week

Wellsway Multi Academy Trust is at an exciting stage in its development. The Trust currently comprises of thirteen schools with more planning to join and is moving towards its vision of being a truly inclusive provider of 4-19 education in East Bristol and Bath.
We are looking for an experienced and professional technician to support our school users in the role of an IT Hub Team Leader in a busy, sometimes demanding, educational environment.
You will be expected to co-ordinate the activities of 3 IT technicians within our Keynsham Hub and work alongside the Systems Administrator assigned to the Hub. Within the Hub we support 6 Trust schools (Wellsway School, IKB Academy, Chandag Infant School, Chandag Junior School, Saltford CoE Primary School and St John’s CoE Primary School) plus 1 primary school supported via a service level agreement. You will be supported in this role by the Head of IT Services along with the Systems Administrator and your fellow Hub Team Leader for our South Bristol hub.
A vital skill for the successful applicant will be to judge when to allow your fellow technicians the freedom to prioritise and when particular tickets require more urgent attention. You also need to be proactive in your communication with school staff and other users as and when the need arises.
In addition to the Team Leader aspect of the role, you will also be expected to carry out the duties of an experienced Senior IT Technician by supporting a variety of end-user devices (e.g. workstations, laptops, tablets, MFDs, Apple TVs and touchscreens), work with the Head of IT Services on projects involving end-user devices as well as work with the IT Infrastructure team to assist the with network infrastructure depending on your level of experience.
The IT Services team is committed to professional development and sees it as a key priority to support each other in gaining skills to prepare you for future career progression either within the Trust or elsewhere. Indeed, the structure of the IT Services team is intentionally designed to allow colleagues to progress their career as their skills develop. An IT Hub Team Leader could progress to be a Systems Administrator or the Head of IT Services in the future.
The team currently comprises the Head of IT Services, three Systems Administrators, two Hub Team Leaders, three senior support technicians, one support technicians and two AV technicians.
