Gower College Swansea is seeking a dynamic, innovative and highly motivated individual to work with the Head of Employer Development to effectively implement the Employer Engagement Strategy – specifically through Key Account Management of large employers in South Wales, enabling the College to diversify and grow its engagement - delivering the skills that the region requires. The successful candidate will become a skills ambassador for the region, clarifying how the College can help to meet the skills needs of individuals and the employer.
Taking an innovative approach to employer development, we are looking for a temporary Key Account Manager to develop our existing and prospective relationships with significant regional employers (both in Swansea Bay University Health Board and Swansea Council) – taking the time to listen to their skills needs and responding with a solutions based approach that Gower College Swansea can deliver holistically. There will be an onus on the promotion of apprenticeship provision, therefore experience in this area is desirable.
This key new role will bring together expertise in customer relationship management balanced with an understanding of training solutions. The post holder will work extensively with GCS Training (the College’s commercial arm) to ensure that employers receive a first-class service whilst also achieving set College targets.
The successful candidate will hold a degree or equivalent level professional qualification and be skilled at developing effective long-term stakeholder relationships, at varying levels, in a target driven environment.
Promote, develop and diversify the College’s portfolio of services to key employers, ensuring the growth of repeat business and new client engagement via the delivery of sector leading training initiatives.
Provide excellent customer service to ensure that the College has a reputation for high-quality employer services, and is positioned as the learning and development partner of choice.
The College is open to considering candidates working in other similar sectors where there is an onus on driving business commerciality or achieving targets.
Applications may be submitted in Welsh and will be treated no less favourably than applications submitted in English. Gower College Swansea recognises the importance of delivering its services in Welsh and recognises the need to grow its bilingual workforce. We therefore encourage applications from candidates who can demonstrate good Welsh Language skills
Gower College Swansea is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. Appointments are subject to an enhanced DBS check and require registration with the Education Workforce Council for Wales.
Appointments will normally be made to the bottom of the salary scale with annual increments on 1st August each year (subject to completing 6 months service).
