Fixed Term Contract – November 2019 to June 2020
We are looking to recruit Learning Mentors (Term Time Only) to provide support to students across a broad spectrum of curriculum subject areas, including; ESOL, KS4, Media, Business, Foundation Learning, and Supported Learning, Hair and Beauty and Caring Services. Learning Mentor helps the College to provide a quality learning environment with the ultimate aim of raising levels of attainment.
As a learning mentor, you will work alongside teachers and other staff, assessing out the needs of learners who require help and how to overcome barriers that maybe preventing them from achieving their full potential. You could cover a variety of issues, ranging from, challenging behaviour and abuse, to working with able and gifted learners who are experiencing difficulties. There will be an expectation to work on a one-to-one basis or in small or large groups.
These positions will suit highly motivated and dedicated individuals with experience of supporting students in a college or school environment. Candidates must have excellent communication skills, will be qualified to at least level 2 in literacy and numeracy and will have a good level of IT skills. Ideally candidates will hold a qualification in providing learning support or will be willing to obtain this qualification.
