As a proactive and enthusiastic individual, you will provide support to Learners with Learning Difficulties and/or Disabilities whilst they are studying on courses at the College. You will support groups and/or individual students who have been assessed and identified as requiring additional learning support both in classes and around the College sites. You may also be required to assist students on arrival, departure and during break times, with their personal care needs and mobility between lessons.
As well as posts to support our learners on mainstream courses we also have posts in our specialist provision, which provides several courses designed specifically for LLDD.
Working as part of a team, you will have good communication skills and be reliable and punctual. Previous experience of supporting young people and adults with learning difficulties and/or disabilities will be required.
You will need to hold GCSE English and Maths at either grade C/4 or above, or equivalent level 2 qualifications, and either hold or be willing to undertake a relevant level 3 qualification within two years.
Various working hours required to support our learners mainly between the core hours of 9am and 5pm, in addition we are looking for individuals who can work an evening between 5pm and 9pm. The majority of lessons either start at 9am in the morning or end after 4pm in the afternoon therefore individuals will be required to have availability for morning or afternoon sessions but not necessarily all day.
