Pay range B1 (£18,933-£19,698) pro rata (£9.81 per hour)
Term time only + 5 training days
Full time posts: 31.5 hours; approx. Mondays 8:35 – 4:30; Tuesday – Friday: 8.45 – 3.15
(Fixed term contract initially until 31 December 2021)
West SILC is seeking to appoint several Learning Support Assistants. We cater for pupils between the ages of 2 and 19 with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities, on specialist sites and mainstream partnership schools. The main purpose of the role is to work under the direct instruction of teaching/senior staff, usually in the classroom with the teacher, to support access to learning for pupils; provide general support to the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom and support the pupils to meet their personal needs. This is an excellent opportunity to experience working within specialist provision.
Posts range from working with students across sites with
• complex communication needs and / or Autism in the low p levels, requiring support with developing the fundamentals of communication; personal development programmes and health needs;
• moderate learning difficulties, secondary aged and who are working at low national curriculum levels;
• moderate to severe learning difficulties some with additional needs including speech, and or Autism (mid P scales to low NC levels) primary and secondary
• Post 16;
• social emotional and mental health issues with an additional learning difficulty, secondary aged
