Learning Support Assistants
Contract Details: Ranging from 20 hours to 35 hours per week, 32 weeks per year
Actual Annual Salary: £6,748 - £11,810 pa
FTE Salary: £17,787 pa
Start Date: 2nd September 2019
We have a range of contracts available from 20 hours per week to 35 hours per week and these roles are 32 weeks per year. There is the opportunity once you have worked your 32 weeks to do additional hours to support students who have access arrangements with their exams during our summer term.
This role is about providing direct support for learning to individual learners, over and above that which is normally provided in a standard learning programme that leads to their learning goals. You will be supporting identified named students in a class environment using a range of learning support strategies, togher with knowledge of each learners' needs and preferences.
It is essential that you hold a Level 2 qualification or higher in English, Maths and CIT. If you have an learning support or any other relevant qualification at Level 2 or higher this would be beneficial but not essential. We would expect you to have an understanding, appreciation and experience of Specific Learning Differences, Disabilities and/or Sensory Impairment and the most appropriate learning support methods.
