We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Lecturer to join a dynamic and dedicated Plumbing team on a full time, permanent basis.
Your role will involve teaching, assessing and supporting students to ensure they meet or exceed targets. You will support students in all aspects of their educational studies. This position is a full time permanent role, and will be based at our Ashley Down Campus and the South Bristol Skills Academy.
What you’ll be responsible for/what we are looking for:
You will be required to be flexible, motivated and well organised. You will have good personal and organisational skills with an up to date understanding of construction legislation and practice, in particular developments within the plumbing sector, which will enable you to work effectively with students and colleagues that will be completing Level 1, 2 and 3 qualifications.
The successful candidate will have:
- City and Guilds NVQ Level 2 Plumbing qualification as a minimum
- Previous industrial experience and up to date knowledge of the Construction industry, specifically the plumbing sector
- Teaching qualification (Cert Ed FE, PGCE) or willingness to work towards and achieve a teaching qualification
The role will involve providing evidence of; planning, teaching and assessment in order to facilitate successful futures for all our students. This will include the completion of registers, reports and tracking documents to assist you in the sharing of your student’s positive achievements.
You will also need to be able to build and maintain excellent working relationships with stakeholders, at all levels, internally and externally, as well as other members of College staff and students.
Salary: £28,000 - £35,000

Our new state of the art construction centre is due to open in 2021. It will offer training in construction skills to around 850 learners over the first three years, through Higher Apprenticeships and more traditional learning routes, providing much-needed skilled workers for the city and wider region. The centre will provide a brand-new, 2500m2 training facility at the South Bristol Skills Academy site.
