18.5 hours per week (Part time / Permanent)
£22,414 - £33,895 p.a. pro rata.
To start beginning of October 2020
We are looking for a highly motivated, professional lecturer in Digital Media, to join our dynamic team, teaching on our Level 3 Animation & Illustration course at East Sussex College Lewes.
We are looking for someone who has a high degree of technical skills across the whole Adobe Creative Suite but with particular skills and experience in 2D and 3D animation, illustration and motion graphics, together with a good understanding of design theory and principles.
As an excellent communicator, you will be able to break down concepts and devise practical ways to secure a deep understanding with learners. Ideally educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant subject, you should also have a teaching qualification, or be willing to work towards one. This role will allow you to inspire the next generation of Digital Creatives.
You will be highly motivated and enthusiastic about teaching and learning and be able to stretch the most able students. For this role teaching experience is not essential but would be highly advantageous, together with in depth knowledge of emerging trends in the digital industries and industry experience.
The person we are looking for would be involved in promoting our courses through collaboration with local schools as well as holding extra-curricular events.
Animation & Illustration is an exciting new course, in a fast moving area of the creative and digital sector and you should be prepared to investigate new technologies, such as VR and Motion Capture, and integrate them into the curriculum and contribute to the development of new provision in the area.
This post is currently advertised as 0.5 but there may be opportunities to teach extra sessions within our Digital Media Design Degree.
This post is subject to a DBS check.
