The Curriculum Area of Engineering & Computing forms part of the Llanelli Faculty, in conjunction with Creative Industries, Public Services, Sport and A levels & Access. The Curriculum Area delivers a diverse range of programmes on the Graig campus. A significant number of learners undertake Faculty programmes purely within the workplace. College based provision ranges from school linked 14-19 initiatives up to and including Honours Degree programmes.
The Computing lecturer will potentially be involved with courses from level 1 to Level 3, with a particular emphasis on developing digital information, digital graphics, multi-media design, media production, website development, web animation and interactive media, 2D animation production, database and spreadsheet modelling. A core part of the Computing curriculum is the Welsh Baccalaureate, Essential skills and ECDL/ECDL Advanced which could form a part of this role.
An increasing demand for Computing at Coleg Sir Gar is apprenticeship training and commercial course development to support work based training. It is anticipated that part of this role will be to support these key developments.
