Functional Skills English and maths Lecturer. Re-engagement. Part Time (18.5 hours per week). Permanent.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Launch Pad team in the Re-engagement department. The team is responsible for delivering English and maths to 16-18 year old students who would otherwise be NEET (not in education, employment or training) as part of our student’s full-time programme of study.
We are looking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Lecturer who can deliver high quality teaching and learning to meet the diverse needs of our students in Functional Skills maths and English.
With relevant experience and educated to degree level (or equivalent), you will have some teaching experience and hold a teaching qualification or be willing to obtain one. You will also have a Level 2 in maths and English (GCSE Grade C or above, GCSE Grade 4 or above, or equivalent).
You will be expected to develop lesson plans to meet individual student needs and deliver innovative lessons that motivate and enthuse our students who may have previously struggled with maths and English in school. You will create interesting and engaging resources that help contextualise the subject and facilitate learning. You will routinely monitor student progress, setting individualised targets to ensure they are developing their knowledge and skills.
You will have a flexible attitude to working as some evening and non-term time teaching may be required. The ability to prioritise your workload to meet deadlines and timely completion of paperwork is essential.
