Lecturer in Media
Permanent 0.7 FTE position, working 26hours per week (Monday – Friday)
£17,630 - £19,266 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications (Based on FTE £25,082 - £27,414pa)
42 days holiday (pro rata)
The college is seeking to appoint a dynamic Lecturer to join the Media Team at BMC’s flagship Creative Campus based in Melton Mowbray. The post holder will contribute to the high quality delivery of level 3 to undergraduate programmes and requires general knowledge of the Media Industry and Production.
You will be a good team player with a positive solution focussed attitude combined with a commitment to deliver excellent teaching and learning. You will have practical experience of working within the creative industries and the ability to build collaborative links with external agencies that promote, work experience and employment opportunities. With a good honours degree in a relevant media discipline you will ideally have a teaching qualification or be willing to gain one whilst in post. The successful candidate will be joining an experienced and high performing team at a point where the college is seeking to ambitiously expand and develop its creative provision.
Brooksby Melton College is a specialist vocational Further and Higher Education provider in Leicestershire spread across two main campuses providing education to approximately 2000 students. The College received a “Good” Ofsted judgement and has a challenging strategy to grow and further improve. A successful candidate who doesn’t hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) will be appointed to a ‘Trainee Lecturer’ role. The salary attached to this role will be £15,656.16 - £17,116.32 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. The candidate will be required to undertake, and be supported through, relevant teaching and vocational qualifications, and on achievement of QTS will be promoted to the qualified Lecturer role.
