Lecturer / Programme Lead for Level 1 & 2 Engineering. Full Time. Permanent.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Engineering Department for an experienced, highly motivated Lecturer/Programme Lead. Applicants are invited from an Engineering background covering either Electrical / Electronic Engineering and / or Mechanical / Manufacturing disciplines.
The successful applicants will teach across a range of full time, part time and apprenticeship programmes to students typically studying Level 1 to Level. Applicants should therefore hold a relevant level 4 HNC/D qualification as a minimum requirement. The appointed person may also deliver across Higher Education and full-cost commercial based programmes of study dependant on industrial and prior teaching experience. You will also hold a Level 2 in maths and English (GCSE Grade C or above, GCSE Level 4 or above or equivalent) as a minimum.
The Programme Lead role will include working closely with the Programme Area Manager to monitor courses and course data and plan programmes to maximise resource and funding. Ensuring learner progress is tracked and maintained on College IT systems, and retention and achievement levels are maintained and improved are important features of the Programme Lead's responsibilities, as well as the development and implementation of systems/processes and other improvements to support the management of learning.
Ideally applicants will also hold a recognised teaching qualification however support is available for exceptional applicants yet to achieve qualified teacher status. Applicants for the Programme Lead vacancy will need a full teaching qualification, have a track record of delivering high quality teaching and learning, and experience of leading course provision and coordinating IV are essential together with the ability to appraise courses using a range of quality and performance indicators.
