Lecturer/Assessor – Property Maintenance
Salary: £26,000 - £31,000
Contract: Full Time Permanent
Location: Ashley Down Centre however due to the nature of the role travel across the Bristol, South Gloucester and North Somerset area will be required
What will you be doing?
City of Bristol College is seeking to appoint a resilient, enthusiastic and proactive lecturer/assessor to join our dedicated team in Construction. This position is a combined lecturing and assessing role where you will be required to teach for 2 days a week and manage a caseload of Property Maintenance Apprentices. You will support the learners in their educational studies using innovation within your teaching and utilising e-learning opportunities where available. You will also be required to visit the apprentices in their work place assessing their professional competencies, reviewing their progress on a regular basis and using an electronic portfolio system.
We are looking for someone with a minimum of 3 years’ experience of Property Maintenance and qualified to NVQ level 2 or equivalent in 1 of the disciplines. Due to the variety of work that this area covers someone with relevant working experience of multiple trades (including plumbing and electrical) is highly desirable. A teaching and assessing qualification along with experience in teaching, training and assessing would be an advantage, though an attitude toward developing these skills would be highly appreciated.
The right person needs to be confident in working in a fast-paced environment, with changing priorities. You will be a confident communicator with the ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with Colleagues, Students and Stakeholders both internally and externally.
