About the role:
West London College is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Maintenance Officer to support its friendly Estates Department. Reporting to the Estate Manager, the post holder will be responsible for ensuring exceptional estates and facilities service across our College campuses.As a maintenance officer, you will undertake general maintenance duties, classroom setups and receiving deliveries of equipment/materials. In addition, you will carry out regular periodic checks on all college accommodation and grounds, including toilets and other communal areas, ensuring that all facilities are in a sound and safe operating condition in line with college standards. Driving duties across our college campuses will also be required.The successful candidates will have experience of working in a similar role. Having a friendly and approaching nature is essential as you will be working alongside a wide range of people, at all levels and will therefore possess excellent customer relations and communication skills. You will have:
-Experience of working in a team and within an estates/facilities department.
-Experience of using general tools and equipment
-Awareness of Building, Fire Safety, Disability, Asbestos and H&S legislation
-A Full UK driving licence (essential)
-Experience of working to deadlines, managing and prioritising time effectively to ensure an excellent service is delivered
-Ability to respond to emergency situations and incidents
