HP Aruba Network Engineer
1.0 FTE (37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year)
£50,000 per annum
Basingstoke College runs enterprise grade IT systems and wants a proven HP Aruba network engineer to support and make the best use out of the existing HP Aruba 8320 core switches, the HP Aruba 2930M edge stacks and the Aruba 535 Access Points and controllers.
You will be responsible for the LAN, WAN and Wi-Fi in terms of security, patching and operation. As such there will be a need for out of hours working to reduce disruption to staff and students and Saturday working is going to be required at various times.
As part of an infrastructure team of four you will also be working with a 1st line team of four other engineers and working on other projects and general IT works as directed. With over 1000 windows desktop PCs and 1200 ChromeOS devices, three datacentres running HP Synergy compute and Nimble Storage, there is scope for expanding into other areas of IT.
With three sites local to Basingstoke, with possible travel between them, your own transport is a requirement. Hybrid working is available. You would work with the Director of IT in such areas as DR and BCP, as well as penetration testing and other security related works.
