SALARY: Band 6
HOURS: 37.5 hours per week
REPORTS TO: Head of Therapies
LOCATION: Wandsworth and Hammersmith
HOLIDAY: 25 days annual leave per annum to be taken within the school holidays. Additionally, school holidays between Christmas and New Year when the school is closed will be considered non-working days.
PROBATIONARY PERIOD: 6 months
SICK PAY: Full pay whilst unable to work due to sickness as follows:
· 0 days in first three months
· 5 days for the remainder of the first year
· 20 days thereafter
· Salary payments for periods of sickness beyond 20 days in a 52 week period are at the discretion of BeyondAutism

BeyondAutism is a charity dedicated to empowering people with autism to lead lives full of choice and control through positive educational experiences, training for the people who work with them and support for their families and carers.
We run BeyondAutism schools, Independent Special Schools, offering transformative specialist education for children and young adults with autism aged 4-19. Our Early Years’ Service provides support for families and children aged 15 months – 5 years, while our Post-19 provision offers opportunities to young adults with autism, from the age of 19 up to 25 – preparing them for adulthood with a skillset that enables them to have choice and control.
Job Purpose
· To provide occupational therapy at a specialist level to children and young adults with complex needs in association with and in addition to Autism Spectrum Disorders.
· The role will be across selected Beyond Autism settings with therapy being provided in Early Years, Park House School, Tram House School, College and Post 19 settings.
· To ensure the service is provided in close collaboration with education staff and other professionals to meet the needs of the learners.
The Clinical work will include:
· Assessing and providing diagnoses and specialist advice on fine and gross motor, sensory and functional difficulties to other professionals and families both internal and external to the organisation.
· Maintaining and using specialist clinical skills and knowledge in a range of disorders to enable the supported management of a specialist caseload of children and young people.
· Planning appropriate therapeutic intervention, making judgements about type and timing of treatment in collaboration with education staff and school.
· Delivering group and individual therapy as required across a range of learning environments.
· Providing regular written and verbal advice, reports and therapy programmes to education staff, parents and other health professionals.
· Providing families with advice and training to support the management of intervention and ensure generalisation of targets.
· Evaluating treatment outcomes using a range of therapeutic and educational frameworks.
· Supporting learners to transition across settings and providing discharge reports to other settings.
Professional Responsibility:
· Managing a caseload whilst recognising own professional boundaries and accessing supervision, advice and support when necessary.
· Maintaining up to date and accurate case notes in line with professional standards and school policies.
· Collecting clinical data and writing reports for Annual Reviews and for other reports as required.
· Engaging in research/clinical governance/audit projects within area of expertise.
· Supporting service improvements in collaboration with the Therapies team.
· Participating in regular service audits, e.g. of case notes and reports.
