Part Time Lecturer. Re-engagement. Upholstery & Soft Furnishings/other crafts. Sessional hours. Temporary.
As a result of our continued success delivering community learning we are looking for inspirational and enthusiastic Lecturer(s) to deliver non-accredited Upholstery, soft furnishings and/or other leisure/craft subjects. Other crafts could include any of the following: Weaving; Knitting; Bridge and Crib; Mens’ Health; Orienteering; Model Making; Photography; Woodwork; Health Eating; Genealogy; Painting; Creative Writing; Wildlife and Nature course; Foraging; How to set up a blog. This list is not exhaustive.
The Lecturer will have experience of teaching these subjects and at least a basic teaching qualification (PTTLs or similar) or be prepared to obtain a qualification. This role will involve establishing and maintaining effective training, learning, and assessment activities to accurately record learning. An ability to deliver blended or online learning or willingness to acquire the skills will be necessary.
You will be expected to develop session plans to meet individual learner needs and deliver innovative sessions to adults in a workshop setting, with students working on individual projects. You will need to have a flexible approach to working and the ability to prioritise your workload to meet assessment deadlines and timely completion of paperwork.
Candidates will require:
A recognised teaching or training qualification at Level 3 or above.
Achieved a Level 2 or equivalent qualification in maths and English.
A good level of general IT skills.
Experience of delivering training to adult learners.
Relevant qualification or experience of teaching upholstery, soft furnishings or other craft subject.
The successful applicant will be expected to take part in ongoing CPD in teaching practice and occupational knowledge to maintain competence in teaching practice and the subject area.
