Cwmbran High School
Role: Physics Teacher
Cwmbran High School is seeking to employ an energetic and enthusiastic Physics teacher from October half-term 2021 or before if possible.
The successful candidate would possess a thorough knowledge of developments in the teaching of Science: an awareness of a range of teaching and learning styles and be an excellent classroom practitioner. A suitable candidate would preferably have taught physics to KS3 & KS4 with proven outcomes. It is also imperative that they also possess an excellent understanding of strategies for raising standards & pupil achievement.
Cwmbran High School is on an exciting journey. We are a rapidly improving school with high aspirations and expectations for all. Our aim is simple, to be the most improved school in Torfaen, providing consistently high-quality learning and teaching experiences to all our pupils.
To achieve this ambition, we are in a formal partnership with Cantonian High School in Cardiff, which is recognised as one of the most improved schools in Wales.
The right candidate will have the benefit of this partnership, to be able work with colleagues across both schools in order to develop and refine their teaching practice.
Staff professional development if fundamental to our improvement journey, we invest heavily in providing staff with a bespoke package of support, tailored to their own individual needs. Learning and teaching is central in everything we do, and we are developing an enquiry-led culture that drives our professional learning.
We are committed to ensuring all our pupils develop as successful individuals, from our most vulnerable pupils to our more able and talented learners. We recognise that for pupils to achieve their potential, their learning needs to be personalised to meet their individual needs. We also recognise that learning is more than academic achievement but should be centred on the development of the whole child, including their personal development.
Ultimately, we strive to be a centre where learning is valued, and pupils achieve their potential in a happy and safe community where they show respect and tolerance for others.
We are looking to recruit a dynamic individual who has passion, drive, energy and enthusiasm, and shares our values, to join us on this journey. If you have the commitment, combined with energy, enthusiasm and a true desire to make a difference to the lives of our pupils, Cwmbran High School could be the school for you. In turn, we offer you a rewarding career, working with a team of driven professionals, underpinned by a culture of unwavering support to ensure you are the best you can be.
