Programme Lead. Engineering. Full Time. Permanent.
An opportunity has arisen within our Engineering Department for an experienced, highly motivated Programme Lead. Applicants are invited from an Engineering background with a Mechanical bias; ideally able to deliver subjects such as Mechanical Science, Mechanical Principles / Further Mechanical Principles and Thermodynamics.
The Programme Lead role will include working closely with the Programme Area Manager to monitor courses and course data and plan programmes to maximise resource and funding. Ensuring student progress is tracked and maintained on College IT systems, and retention and achievement levels are maintained and improved are important features of the Programme Lead's responsibilities, as well as the development and implementation of systems / processes and other improvements to support the management of learning.
The successful applicant will teach across a range of full time, part time and apprenticeship programmes to students typically studying at Level 3 to Level 5. Applicants should therefore hold a relevant Degree or equivalent Level 4/5 HNC/D qualification as a minimum requirement. You will also hold a Level 2 in maths and English (GCSE Grade C or above, GCSE Level 4 or above or equivalent) as a minimum.
Ideally applicants will also hold a recognised teaching qualification however support is available for exceptional candidates yet to achieve qualified teacher status. Candidates will have a track record of delivering high quality teaching and learning, and experience of leading course provision and coordinating IV are essential together with the ability to appraise courses using a range of quality and performance indicators.
