We have a new exciting opportunity for a professional and driven individual to join Coventry College as Safeguarding Lead.
With your exceptional experience and knowledge of safeguarding, you will be acting as first point of contact for Safeguarding and Prevent referrals for the College. You will work collaboratively with the Safeguarding team to provide guidance and support to learners and staff cross college.
You will contribute to the identification of emerging trends and generation of action plans to address issues. You will also encourage good practice for Safeguarding, Prevent, Equality and Diversity and British Values across the College by assisting in the development and delivery of effective training and resources.
You will have a minimum Level 3 qualification in Safeguarding and will be able to evidence continuing professional development. A Counselling qualification is advantageous but not essential.
You will have experience of providing support to learners with a wide range of learning difficulties/disabilities and with challenging behaviours – in particular learners with attendance and/or welfare issues. You must have experience of involvement in safeguarding cases. Ideally you will have experience of working with a range of external organisations and agencies to support learners (e.g. Schools, Safeguarding Board, Police).
You will be motivated by your belief that every student can achieve their potential and embrace the College values of high expectations and high aspirations for all of our learners. We recognise that our staff are integral to the success of the College and student achievement.
Coventry College has two campuses (Henley Campus, Bell Green, City Campus, City Centre), you must therefore be able to travel between sites, and hold a full clean driving license.
(Please note that CVs will not be accepted).
The successful applicant will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check.
Interviews will be held on Tuesday, 30th July 2019
