Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN 1
Start date: Autumn Term 2023
West Gate School is an over-subscribed special school setting for 4 – 19-year olds. We were judged ‘good’ in all areas by Ofsted June 2021 and have ambitious plans to continue improving what we offer for our learners. We cater for children and young people with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities. Many of our learners have autism as part of their profile of need. You can access a wealth of additional information from our school website.
We are looking for an individual with a genuine passion for working with learners who have a range of special educational needs, especially those with needs that are more complex. Applicants should passionately believe that it is the right of every child to make outstanding progress and that every child has a right celebrate their achievements, be an individual, be aspirational and be equal. We offer a bespoke induction programme, extensive training, comprehensive wellbeing support and the opportunity to develop yourself as an expert practitioner. You are more than welcome to arrange a visit to the school and experience our fun, vibrant setting and amazing pupils.
The post is suitable for teachers with special needs experience, ECTs and teachers from mainstream primary schools, looking to make a change. Applications from teachers with either EYFS or SEMH experience would be welcome, but not essential.
The ideal candidate is a dedicated and highly motivated individual, who wants to contribute to our vibrant school team and help our amazing pupils to be their best. If you are committed to high quality education for all, then we would love to hear from you.
